Who we are

Three private resorts, run as one team — not a booking site

Costa Rica Private Resorts brings together three privately owned resorts: Bella Vista Private Resort in the central mountains, The Majestic Lodge at Arenal Volcano, and Johnny's Beach Bungalow on Playa Avellanas. Each one is owned by its own group of investors. Shiloh spearheaded all three projects and built the businesses that run them, so they share one planning team, one way of hosting and one standard of care. There's no call center. When you book with us, you're dealing with the people who run the place and the people who live there.

Most groups that come to Costa Rica want more than one side of it: the mountains and the beach, or the volcano and the surf. Because the three resorts are run together, we can plan that as one trip. We hold the dates together, quote them together, and hand your group from one set of hosts to the next.

Why three estates in three regions

Costa Rica is a small country with very different landscapes a few hours apart, and most groups want more than one of them. So we chose three that don't overlap:

Bella Vista sits on a gated mountaintop 1 hr 20 min from San José (SJO), with four private lit pickleball courts and a pool that looks down the valley to the Pacific.
The Majestic Lodge faces Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, with zip lines six minutes away, ten en-suite rooms and Lake Arenal a short walk away.
Johnny's is a 3-minute walk from the surf at Playa Avellanas in Guanacaste, 1 hr 30 min from Liberia (LIR).

Fly into San José, start in the mountains, move to the volcano, finish on the beach and fly home from Liberia. That route is the reason this site exists. See it day by day on the itinerary page.

How we host

Three rules hold at every estate:

The whole property, one group. We never rent rooms to strangers alongside you. The pool, the deck, the kitchen and the grounds are yours for the stay.
Hosts live on site. Not on call from town. If the power blinks or the plan changes, someone who knows the place is a short walk away.
One team, start to finish. The same people quote your trip, hold your dates and welcome you at the gate. Ask our hosts about drivers, meals and day trips; they know the area.

Our direct booking promise

Booking direct with us is typically about 10% less than the same dates on Airbnb or VRBO, because there are no platform service fees. You also get one point of contact for the whole trip, a single quote when you combine estates, and the people who run the resorts on the other end of the line. If something isn't right, you won't be filing a ticket with a platform; you'll be talking to us.
